Hispanic group from Laredo,TX consisted of Rene Herrera,Rene Ornelas,Juan Orfila and Juan Garza Gongora,

In 1957...

Recorded two singles for the Linden, NJ based label De Luxe Records(became a King subsidiary label) owened by David & Jules Braun...

-Loneliness/Come De Nite(reissued on King).

The group toured around the country,Chicago,Miami Beach,New Orleans and visit Toronto in Canada.

In 1962 the group disbanded but the two Renes continue in the music bussines as the duo Rene & Rene and have spanish hits in 1964 with_Angelito. and in 1968 with_Lo Mucho Que Te Quiero.

The Quarter Notes was a quartet from Laredo, Texas It consisted of Rene Ornelas, Rene Herrera (RIP), Juan Orfila (RIP) and Juan Garza Gongora (RIP). The two Renes went on to record as Rene & Rene and had two international hits. "Angelito" which they performed on American Bandstand in August 1963, and "Lo Mucho Que Te Quiero" 1968.
